To (S)-3-[2-(2-isoquinolin-4-yl-ethoxy)-benzenesulfonylamino]-4-oxo-butyric acid tert-butyl ester was added 3:1 dichloromethane/trifluoroacetic acid (20 mL) and water (200 μL). After 2 h at room temperature, toluene (20 ml) was added and the solvent was removed under reduced pressure to give 3-[2-(2-isoquinolin-4-yl-ethoxy)-benzenesulfonylamino]-4-oxo-butyric acid trifluoro-acetate salt as a colorless foam (36 mg). MS (APCI) m/z 429.1 (M+1).
