A solution of sodium hydroxide (0.475 g) in water (30 ml) was added to a solution of 4-chloro-3-[[(tricyclo[3.3.1.13,7]dec-1-ylmethyl)amino]carbonyl]-benzenepropanoic acid, methyl ester (Example 6b, 2.3 g) in methanol (30 ml). After 5 h the reaction mixture was reduced to half volume in vacuo and acidified with dilute hydrochloric acid. A white solid precipitated and was collected by filtration and dried in vacuo at 50° C., to give the subtitled compound (1.2 g).
