Procedure
Hydrochloric acid (4M in 1,4-dioxane, 3.0 ml) was added to a solution of [2-[4-chloro-3-[[(tricyclo[3.3.1.13,7]dec-1-ylmethyl)amino]carbonyl]phenyl]ethyl]carbamic acid, 1,1-dimethylethyl ester (2.2 g, Example 30b) in methanol/dichloromethane (1:1) (50 ml). After 24 h the solvent was evaporated to leave the title compound as a foam (1.85 g).
