Procedure
To a solution of [1-(cyclopropylmethyl)-2-(2,2-dimethylpropyl)-1H-benzimidazol-5-yl]methanol (Step D, 200 mg, 0.73 mmol) in dichloromethane (3 mL) were added methanesulfonyl chloride (114 μL, 1.5 mmol) and triethylamine (226 μL, 1.6 mmol) at 0° C. The mixture was stirred at 0° C. for 1 h and at room temperature for 2 h. Water (2 mL) was added and the mixture was extracted with ethyl acetate (10 mM×2). The organic extracts were dried over sodium sulfate and concentrated to afford the title compound as pale red oil.
