5-(Acetylamino)naphthalene-2-sulfonyl chloride (280 mg, 0.987 mmol) was added to benzylamine (127 mg, 1.19 mmol) and triethylamine (0.17 ml, 1.22 mmol) dissolved in tetrahydrofuran (3.0 ml), and the mixture was stirred at room temperature for 1 hour. Water (10 ml) was added to the reaction solution, and after the mixture was stirred for 10 minutes, the resulting solid was collected. The solid was washed with water and isopropyl ether to give the title compound as a light pink solid (296 mg, 84.6%).
