6.45 g of 4-fluoro-benzenesulfonic acid 2-tert-butoxycarbonylamino-1H-benzoimidazol-5-yl ester were combined with 15 ml trifluoroacetic acid in 60 ml dichloromethane. The reaction mixture was stirred overnight at room temperature. Solvents were evaporated under reduced pressure. The residue was washed with ethyl ether and dried on glass frit yielding 6.58 g of 4-fluoro-benzenesulfonic acid 2-amino-1H-benzoimidazol-5-yl ester trifluoroacetic acid salt.
