Reaction Steps

6.20 g (16 mmol) IV and 0.80 g (20 mmol, 60%) NaH were stirred for 5 h at room temperature in 80 ml DMF. The solvent was removed and the residue was taken up in 250 ml CHCl3, washed three times with water and dried over Na2SO4. Recrystallization from n-hexane gave 4.22 g (13.6 mmol, 85%) V.
