Procedure
N-[4-(1-methyl(3-piperidyloxy))-2-nitrophenyl]acetamide was dissolved in 1:1 MeOH : 6N NaOH (aq) solution (0.03 M). After stirring at room temperature for 2 hours, MeOH was removed in vacuo. The remaining solution was extracted with EtOAc (3×). The combined organic extracts were then dried over Na2SO4 and concentrated in vacuo to give 4-(1-methyl(3-piperidyloxy))-2-nitrophenylamine.
