Procedure
To a stirred solution of tert-butyl methyl(pyridin-3-ylmethyl)carbamate of Step A (0.50 g, 2.25 mmol) in dichloromethane (15 mL) was added 90% m-chloroperbenzoic acid (1.3 g, 6.8 mmol). After stirring overnight, the reaction was quenched with saturated aqueous sodium bicarbonate. The organic layer was dried over anhydrous sodium sulfate, filtered and concentrated in vacuo to give 0.38 g of product as a colorless oil.
