The product from step (a) (50 mg, 0.1 mmol) and D-leucinol (60 mg, 0.5 mmol) were dissolved in anhydrous tetrahydrofuran (3 mL). The solution was heated in a capped reaction tube at 100° C. for 7 days. The crude product was flash chromatographed on silica (gradient eluent—ammonia:ethyl acetate:chloroform, 1:9:90 to 1:49:50). The product was dried in vacuo at room temperature resulting in 44 mg (76% yield) of the title compound as a white solid.
