Procedure

0.100 g (0.269 mmol) of 3-[2-(2,4-Dichlorophenyl)-ethoxy]-4,5-dimethoxy-benzoic acid was dissolved in 2 ml of DMF and treated with 0.124 g (1.08 mmol) of N-NEM and 0.0477 g (0.27 mmol) of 1-Pyridin-4-ylmethyl-piperazine and 0.088 g (0.269 mmol) of TOTU. The solution was stirred for 16 h at RT. The solvent was removed under reduced pressure, the residue was taken-up in ethyl acetate and the solution was washed twice with saturated aqueous sodium bicarbonate and once with saturated aqueous sodium chloride. The organic phase was dried with magnesium sulphate, filtered and the solvent was removed under reduced pressure. The residue was chromatographed on silica gel eluting with a gradient of 0–17% MeOH in DCM.
