Reaction Steps
Prepared from ethyl 8-chloro-4,10-dihydro-4,10-dioxo-1H-1-benzopyrano[3,2-b]pyridine-3-carboxylate (3.19 g, 0.01 mole) and ethyl iodide (6.24 g, 0.04 mole) by the method described for Example 9. Recrystallization from DMF gave white crystals (2.7 g, 78%), m.p. 257°-259°.
