Reaction Steps
Prepared from ethyl 8-chloro-4,10-dihydro-4,10-dioxo-1H-1-benzopyrano[3,2-b]pyridine-3-carboxylate (3.195 g, 0.01 mole) and butyl iodide (7.36 g, 0.04 mole) by the method described for Example 9. Recrystallization from methanol gave white crystals (3.575 g, 95%), m.p. 226°-228°.
