Reaction Steps
2-Bromo-N-(3-pyridyl)benzamide. To a solution of 2-bromobenzoylchloride (11.6 g) in dry pyridine (50 ml) at rt., 3-aminopyridine (5.0 g) dissolved in dry pyridine was added. After stirring for 12 hours and extractive work-up 7.77 g of the title product was obtained as white crystals. MS(ESP+) m/z: 279 (M+H+, 98), 277 (M+H+, 100).
