Reaction Steps
7-Isopropenyl-5-methoxy-2-(4-methoxy-phenyl)-benzofuran 116 (0.28, 0.95 mmol) was hydrogenated over an atmosphere of hydrogen with 10% Pd/C (0.05 g) in EtOH/THF (10 ml). After 2 hr, the reaction was filtered through celite and concentrated to give 117 as a solid (0.27 g, 95%).
