150 mg of 1-[(2-methoxy-3-pyridyl)methyl]-4-[2-oxo-2-(2-trifluoroacetylaminophenyl)ethyl]piperidine obtained in Example 63 and 141 mg of potassium carbonate were suspended in a mixed solvent of 3 ml of methanol and 3 ml of water, and the mixture was stirred at room temperature for one hour. The reaction solution was extracted with ethyl acetate, and the organic layer was washed with brine, and then dried over anhydrous magnesium sulfate. The solvent was evaporated, to give the title compound as a yellow oil (quantitatively).
