Procedure
To a suspension of the compound obtained in Example 34 (7) (1.06 g) in tetrahydrofuran (40 ml), methanol (40 ml) and water (20 ml), OXONE (2.16 g) was added at 0° C. and the mixture was stirred at 15 to 30° C. for 4 hours. Further, OXONE (1.08 g) was added thereto and the mixture was stirred at 15 to 30° C. for 1 hour. After completion of the reaction, the reaction solution was concentrated and poured into a saturated aqueous sodium hydrogencarbonate solution. The mixture was extracted with ethyl acetate, washed with a saturated aqueous NaCl solution, dried over anhydrous magnesium sulfate, filtered and concentrated. The resulting residue was then separated using silica gel column chromatography (ethyl acetate:hexane=1:2 and 2:1) to obtain 852 mg (73%) of the desired product as a pale yellow crystal.
