Procedure

A mixture of 1-(4-fluorobenzyl)-5-methanesulfonyl-2-(6-chloro-5-fluoropyrimidin-4-yl)-1H-pyrrolo[2,3-b]pyridine obtained in Example 36 (5) (12 mg), ethanol (1 ml), ethyl acetate (1 ml) and 10% palladium on carbon (10 mg) was stirred under hydrogen stream at 15 to 30° C. for 1.5 hour. The catalyst was filtered through Celite. The filtrate was concentrated under reduced pressure. The resulting residue was separated using silica gel column chromatography (methanol:dichloromethane=1:99) to obtain the desired product (9 mg) as a white powder.
