Procedure
Amine preparation: a mixture of 4-morpholinocarbonyl chloride (0.38 ml), 1-BOC-piperazine (552 mg) and potassium carbonate (439 mg) in MeCN (7 mL) was stirred at room temperature for 3 h. The reaction mixture was then diluted with DCM, washed with brine, dried (MgSO4) and the solvent removed in vacuo to yield 4-(morpholine-4-carbonyl)-piperazine-1-carboxylic acid tert-butyl ester (865 mg). Treatment of this compound with HCl in DCM/MeOH yielded the desired compound, which was isolated as the hydrochloride salt.
