The mixture of 5-cyclopropyl-2-piperidin-4-yl-1H-benzoimidazole (98 mg, 0.41 mmol), 2,3-dichloro-pyrazine (74 mg, 0.5 mmol) and K2CO3 (115 mg, 0.83 mmol) in CH3CN (15 mL) was heated to 80° C. for 10 h. Then it was concentrated and partitioned between DCM and H2O, the organic layer was dried over Na2SO4, and concentrated to give the desired compound 2-[1-(3-chloro-pyrazin-2-yl)-piperidin-4-yl]-5-cyclopropyl-1H-benzo imidazole (88 mg, 65%).
