Procedure
The mixture of 2-azetidin-3-yl-1H-benzoimidazole-5-carbonitrile (1.7 g, 8.8 mmol), 2,3-dichloro-pyrazine (1.43 g, 9.7 mmol) and K2CO3 (2.4 g, 17.6 mmol) in CH3CN (20 mL) was heated to 80° C. for 10 h, then it was concentrated and partitioned between DCM and H2O. The organic layer was dried over Na2SO4, and concentrated to give the desired compound (1.4 g, 65%). The crude product was used in the next step without further purification.
