Procedure

Using an analogous reaction procedure and workup as described in Example 1, [2-(1-ethyl-1H-indol-3-yl)-1-methyl-ethyl]carbamic acid ethyl ester (I-42c: 3 g, 10.8695 mmol) in POCl3 (30 mL) was reacted with P2O5 (3.080 g, 21.739 mmol) at 120° C. for 1 hour to afford the crude product. Purification by column chromatography on silica gel (25% ethylacetate in hexane) afforded 0.400 g of the product (16.1% yield).
