Reaction Steps
A mixture of 1-(5-bromo-3-(tert-butyl)-2-hydroxyphenyl)ethanone (0.5 g, 1.8 mmol), NaOAc (246 mg, 3.0 mmol) and NH2OH.HCl (187 mg, 2.7 mmol) in EtOH (10 mL) was heated at reflux for 3 h, concentrated and the obtained solid was washed with water to give compound P8a (0.5 g, 97%) as solid.
