To a solution of compound 3c (3.0 g, 10.0 mmol) in THF (80 mL) at −78° C. was added a solution of NBS (1.78 g, 10.0 mmol) in THF (50 mL) and the solution was stirred for 2 h at −78° C. Water was added and the solution was extracted with EA twice. The combined organic layers were dried over Na2SO4, filtered, concentrated and purified CC (EA/PE=1/5) to give compound 3d (3.2 g, 85%) as a white solid.
