To a solution of 1,1-dimethylethyl((1S)-2-(1,3-dioxo-1,3-dihydro-2H-isoindol-2-yl)-1-{[2-(trifluoromethyl)phenyl]methyl}ethyl)carbamate (3.2 g, 7.1 mmol) in MeOH (35 mL) at RT was added 4M HCl in dioxane (18 mL). After 12 h, the solution was concentrated affording the title compound (2.7 g, quant.) as the HCl salt: LCMS (ES) m/z 349 (M+H)+.
