A mixture of 1-methyl-4-(1-((2-(trimethylsilyl)ethoxy)methyl)-1H-imidazol-4-yl)-1H-pyrazole and 1-methyl-4-(1-((2-(trimethylsilyl)ethoxy)methyl)-1H-imidazol-5-yl)-1H-pyrazole (170 mg, 0.7 mmol) from Step 2 of this Example were stirred in a 1:1 mixture of TFA and CH2Cl2 (5 mL) for 15 h. The mixture was then concentrated under reduced pressure to afford 4-(1H-imidazol-4-yl)-1-methyl-1H-pyrazole (248 mg) as an oil and was used in the next step without further purification.
