Procedure
To a solution of 4 M HCl in MeOH (10 mL) was added 3-(2-phenyl-pyridin-3-yl)-azetidine-1-carboxylic acid tert-butyl ester (27) (180 mg, 0.58 mmol) at 0° C. and the resulting mixture was stirred at RT for 1 h. The mixture was concentrated under reduced pressure to give 3-azetidin-3-yl-2-phenyl-pyridine hydrochloride (28) (120 mg, yield 94%) which was used for the next step without further purification. ESI-MS (M+1): 211 calc. for C14H14N2 210.
