A mixture of 3-(5′-fluoro-4-hydroxymethyl-3,4,5,6-tetrahydro-2H-[1,3′]bipyridinyl-2′-yl)-azetidine-1-carboxylic acid tert-butyl ester (76) (490 mg, 1.34 mmol) in 4 M HCl/MeOH solution (10 mL) was stirred at RT for 30 min. Then the solvent was evaporated at 40° C. to give (77) (392 mg, 1.3 mmol, 98% yield) as a yellow solid. ESI-MS (M+1): 266 calc. for C14H20FN3O 265.
