Procedure
To a solution of 4 N HCl in MeOH (10 mL) was added 3-[3-(Tetrahydro-pyran-4-yl)-pyrazin-2-yl]-azetidine-1-carboxylic acid tert-butyl ester (116) (897 mg, 2.81 mmol) at 0° C. and the resulting mixture was stirred at RT for 1 h. The mixture was concentrated under reduced pressure to give 2-azetidin-3-yl-3-(tetrahydro-pyran-4-yl)-pyrazine hydrochloride (117) (716 mg, yield 100%) which was used for the next step without further purification. ESI-MS (M+1): 220 calc. for C12H17N3O 219.
