850 mg 5,7-dichloro-6-phenylimidazo[1,2-a]pyrimidine (prepared as described for example 1) was dissolved in 18 mL of a 8M Solution of MeNH2 in methanol and stirred at room temperature for 1.5 h. The product precipitated upon dilution with water and cooling to 0° C. The solid material was collected by filtration and washed twice with water to yield the desired material.
