Following General Procedure D1, tert-butyl 3-(4-(8-methoxy-6-methyl-4-oxo-4,5-dihydrothieno[2,3-c]quinolin-9-yl)phenyl)piperidine-1-carboxylate (50 mg, 0.10 mmol) was reacted with HCl in ether (2.5 mL) to afford the desired product (31 mg, 77%) as an off-white solid: ESI MS m/z 405 [C24H24N2O2S+H]+
