To a stirred solution of N-((4,6-dimethyl-2-oxo-1,2-dihydropyridin-3-yl)methyl)-1-isopropyl-6-vinyl-1H-pyrazolo[3,4-b]pyridine-4-carboxamide (0.8 g, 2.19 mmol) in DCM (10 mL), N-Methylmorpholine-N-oxide (0.769 g, 6.57 mmol) was added at 0° C. Then OsO4 (2.5% in t-BuOH) (0.139 g, 5.56 mL, 0.547 mmol) was added to it. Resulting solution was stirred at room temperature for 1 h. After completion of reaction, water was added to it and extraction was carried out using 20% MeOH/DCM. The combined organic layers were washed with water, dried over anhydrous Na2SO4, filtered and concentrated under reduced pressure to afford crude material which was purified by column chromatography to give the desired product (0.66 g, 75.4%).
