Reaction Steps
Raltegravir (100 gm) was suspended in ethanol (600 ml) and then added barium hydroxide (42 gm) at 25 to 30° C. The contents were heated to 60 to 65° C. to obtain a solution. The solution was cooled to 25 to 30° C. and stirred for 18 hours at 25 to 30° C. The solid obtained was collected by filtration and dried to obtain 105 gm of raltegravir barium.
