Procedure
A solution of 4-chloro-6-methylthio-2-trifluoromethylquinazoline (0.4 g, 1.4 mmol) and m-chloroperbenzoic acid (0.3 g, 1.4 mmol) in chloroform (14 mL) was stirred at 0° C. for 0.5 h. The reaction mixture was washed with saturated sodium bisulfite solution, 1M sodium bicarbonate solution, and brine. The solution was dried (Na2SO4), filtered, and concentrated to give the title compound (0.2 g, 49%); m.p. 105-107° C.
