4,5α-Epoxy-3-methoxymethoxy-17-methyl-6α-((2-pyridyl)-oxy)-morphinan-7-ene (1.0 g. 2.46 mmol) is dissolved in MeOH (40 ml), mixed with 10% Pd unactivated charcoal 800 mg and then agitated at RT under H2 (1 bar over pressure) for 2 hours. The catalyst is eliminated by filtering over a filter compound and a filtrate is concentrated by rotary evaporation.
