Procedure
2-chloro-4-pyridinecarboxylic acid (2.5 g) in dry THF (100 ml) was added to a stirred solution of lithium aluminum hydride (20.6 ml, solution 1M in THF), kept at 23° and under a nitrogen atmosphere. The mixture was poured onto ice and extracted with EA (3×100 ml) and the organic extracts washed with brine, dried and concentrated in vacuo to give the title compound as a yellow solid (0.98 g).
