500 mg (2 mmol) of benzyl N-succinimidocarbonate dissolved in 2.5 ml of dioxane were added dropwise at 0° C. to a solution of 455 mg (2 mmol) of 2′-aminomethylbiphenyl-2-carboxylic acid (precursor 3) and 336 mg (4 mmol) of sodium hydrogencarbonate in 5 ml of dioxane and 5 ml of water. After stirring at RT for 4 h, the mixture was concentrated in vacuo, diluted with water, acidified and extracted with ethyl acetate. 590 mg of 2′-(benzyloxycarbonylaminomethyl)biphenyl-2-carboxylic acid were obtained.
