Procedure

40 ml of 2N ethereal hydrochloric acid are added to a solution of 12.7 g of the compound obtained in stage B in 200 ml of MeOH and the mixture is then heated at 40° C. for 3 hours. The reaction mixture is concentrated under vacuum, the residue is extracted with ether, the organic phase is washed twice with a 10% NaHCO3 solution and dried over MgSO4, and the solvent is evaporated under vacuum. 8.3 g of the expected compound are obtained after crystallization from an ether/pentane mixture.
