To a stirred solution of tert-butyl 5-(2,4-dichlorophenyl)-2-formyl-7-methylimidazo[1,2-a]pyrimidine-6-carboxylate (90 mg, 0.22 mmol) in MeOH (4 mL) was added tosyl methyl isocyanide (52 mg, 0.27 mmol) and K2CO3 (61 mg, 0.44 mmol). After heating to 60° C. for 30 min, the reaction was concentrated under reduced pressure and purified by silica gel chromatography to provide tert-butyl 5-(2,4-dichlorophenyl)-7-methyl-2-(oxazol-5-yl)imidazo[1,2-a]pyrimidine-6-carboxylate (65 mg, 66%) as a light yellow solid.
