1,1-Dimethylethyl N-((6-chloro-4-hydroxy-2-oxo-2′,3′,5′,6′-tetrahydro-spiro[naphthalene-1,4′-pyran]-3-yl)carbonyl)-L-alaninate (525 mg, 1204 μmol) was dissolved in TFA for 30 minutes before it was concentrated, precipitated with hexanes, washed with hexanes, and dried in a vacuum oven to give the title compound (384 mg) as a white solid. MS (m/z)=380 (M+H)+. Calculated for C18H18ClNO6 379.08.
