A mixture of ethyl 6″-chloro-4″-hydroxy-5,5-dimethyl-2″-oxo-dispiro[1,3-dioxane-2,1′-cyclohexane-4′,1″-naphthalene]-3″-carboxylate (69 mg, 159 μmol) and tert-butyl 2-aminoacetate hydrochloride (53 mg, 317 μmol) in 1.5 mL dioxane was treated with N-ethyl-N-isopropylpropan-2-amine (62 mg, 476 μmol). The mixture was warmed to 95° C. and stirred for 2 hours, M+1=420. The mixture was cooled to room temperature and concentrated in vacuo. The crude product was purified by column chromatography eluting with 10-20% EtOAc/hexane to give 66 mg of the title compound as a white yellow solid. MS (m/z)=520 (M+H)+.
