To a solution of 4-{[4-(3-chloropropoxy)-2-(tetrahydro-4H-pyran-4-yloxy)phenyl]methyl}-5-isopropyl-3-(2,3,4,6-tetra-O-pivaloyl-β-D-glucopyranosyloxy)-1H-pyrazole (0.3 g) in N,N-dimethylformamide (5 mL) was added sodium azide (43 mg), and the mixture was stirred at 80° C. for 3 hours. To the reaction mixture was added water, and the precipitated crystals were collected by filtration. The crystals were washed with water and n-hexane, and dried under reduced pressure to give the title compound (0.3 g).
