To 3-(2-(N-t-butoxycarbonylamino)-ethoxy)-5-chloro-1,2-benzisoxazole (0.50 g) was added a solution of 4 N-hydrochloric acid/1,4-dioxane (4.0 ml) and stirred at room temperature for 15 minutes. After filtering the precipitated crystals and washing with 1,4-dioxane, the title compound (0.38 g) was obtained as colorless crystals.
