Intermediate 4 (700 mg) was suspended in ethanol (95%) (10 ml), hydrochloric acid (10 ml, 6 M) was added and the heterogeneous mixture refluxed for 10 h. The suspension was cooled to room temperature and the solid filtered, washed with further portions of 6 M hydrochloric acid and finally vacuum dried to yield the title compound (427 mg) as a white solid
