Procedure
Part B: 2,4-Dichloro-6-methyl-1,3,5-triazine (3 g, 18.29 mmol), 2-bromo-N-ethyl-4-isopropylaniline (6.07 g, 25.07 mmol) and diisopropylethylamine (3.2 g, 25.07 mmol) were dissolved in dioxane (60 mL) under N2 and refluxed three hours. The solvent was stripped and the residue was purified using flash chromatography (CH2Cl2, silica). to provide N-(2-bromo-4-isopropylphenyl)-N-ethyl-4-chloro-6-methyl-1,3,5-triazine-2-amine (4.58 g) as a clear oil in 68% yield.
