Procedure

A mixture of 2,4-dichloropyrimidine (1.49 g), cesium carbonate (3.26 g) and the product of example 1 step (iv) (3 g) in dimethylsulphoxide (40 ml) was stirred at room temperature for 3 hours and partitioned between ethyl acetate and water. The organic phase was dried (MgSO4) and evaporated. The product was collected after trituration with 50% ethyl acetate in isohexane. Yield 2.55 g.
