Procedure
A solution of 2 g (7.65 mM) of the compound obtained in Step D and 2.6 ml (19.8 mM) of triethylamine in 100 ml of methylene chloride is poured into a solution, cooled to 0° C., of 0.61 ml (7.65 mM) of ethyl chloroformate in 50 ml of methylene chloride. Stirring is carried out for 24 hours at room temperature, and the mixture is siluted with water and extracted with methylene chloride. The organic phases are washed first with 1N HCl and then with water until neutral and finally dried over MgSO4 to yield, after evaporation, 2.2 g of the expected product.
