3-chloro-5-({2-chloro-5-[(1,3-dioxo-1,3-dihydro-2H-isoindol-2-yl)methyl]phenyl}oxy)benzonitrile (0.40 g, 0.94 mmol) and hydrazine monohydrate (0.11 mL, 2.3 mmol) dissolved in methanol (10 mL). The reaction was stirred at 60° C. for 1.5 h. The solvent was evaporated and the crude product was purified by column chromatography (hexane/EtOAc) to afford the title compound (0.26 g, 94%) as a solid.
