An operation similar to that in Example 1 (1) was performed using 2-chloro-4′-(trifluoromethyl)acetophenone (13.4 g) and methyl 4-methyl-3-oxopentanoate (7.2 g) to give the title compound (5.7 g, 36%) as an oil.
