Procedure

3-(1-ethylpiperidin-4-yl)-2-fluorophenyl methanesulfonate (0.020 g, 0.033 mmol) was dissolved in dry 1,2-dichloroethane (5 ml) and a-chloroethylchloroformat (0.014 ml, 0.033 mmol) was added. The resulting mixture was refluxed for 1 h, and the solvent was evaporated. MS m/z (rel. intensity, 70 eV) 273 (M+, 2), 195 (11), 194 (bp), 178 (5), 56 (60).
